In a hidden conservatory where the air is thick with sleeping aromas, an old woman named Anya tends to the world’s most delicate treasures: the forgotten scents. Each one, from the smell of a first snowfall to the fragrance of a long-lost attic, is kept as a shimmering mote of light. When the precious scent of a young boy’s feeling of “home” begins to fade after a move, turning sour with anxiety, Anya must travel with her companion, a kitten made of smoke, to the boy’s new house. There, she must gather the new, unfamiliar smells and gently weave them into the old, creating a new and beautiful scent of home before the boy’s comfort is lost to the grey mist of forgotten feelings.
