In the grand city of Harappa-Ka, the life-giving Saraswati River has vanished, leaving behind only cracked mud and the bones of a dying empire. The High Council blames the “impurity” of the lower castes, but Soren, a low-ranking scribe in the House of Records, suspects a more grounded truth. While scavenging in the dried riverbed, he discovers a tablet of shimmering jade inscribed in a script that predates the gods. It isn’t a prayer; it’s a manual.
Soren realizes the “gods” were actually master engineers who diverted the river through a subterranean network of jade-lined tunnels. To save his people from a genocidal purge, Soren must team up with Mira, a disgraced river-scout, to journey to the “God-Head”—a forbidden mountain fortress where the river was first tamed. Pursued by the Council’s elite “Silent Blades,” Soren must translate the Jade Lexicon before the heat turns the city into a tomb, discovering that the language of the ancients is the only thing that can command the water.
